Article-3: A Questionnaire Based Study Of “Patient Safety Climate” In A Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital

ABSTRACT

A questionnaire based study of health care personnel on the lines of “2004 Patient Safety Climate in Healthcare” was undertaken to study the perception of patient safety by health care personnel and understand the Variation in patient safety climate by work area and work experience. Stratified random sampling was done to ensure representation of all categories of health care personnel. Responses from 163 personnel were statistically analyzed and results are reported as percentages across profession as clinicians, paramedics or Other HC Personnel and their years of work in the organization < 1 year,1-5 years, 5-20 years and > 20 years. The study also highlights the statistically significant difference in the perceptions among and within work discipline and years of work.
