The Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) conducted its 26th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) on the sidelines of SASH 2024, addressing key organizational developments and future plans.

Key Highlights

1. Annual Report 2022-2024

   • The Executive Director presented a comprehensive report detailing AHA’s activities, including academic programs, research, and achievements.

2. Journal of AHA (JAHA)

   • Partnership with Wolters Kluwer/Medknow to enhance publication standards.
   • Updates on journal volumes and distribution to members, libraries, and subscribers.

3. New Awards

   • AHA Deepak Award: Recognizing the best-performing regional chapter.
   • Annual award for the Best Student (MBA - Healthcare Management) announced during the inaugural HTA program.

4. Academic Programs and Training

   • Successful execution of MBA programs and specialized courses.
   • Collaboration with GITAM University and AMTZ to align healthcare management syllabi with industry standards.

5. Revenue Generation Initiatives

   • Focused efforts on enhancing income through academic programs, memberships, and projects.
   • Key financial updates and strategic measures to sustain operations.

6. Elections to the Board of Executive (BoE) 2025-2027

   • Elections scheduled from 16th to 20th February 2025, ensuring a seamless transition for the newly elected BoE to take charge from 1st April 2025.

7. Advocacy Efforts

   • Deliberations on promoting hospital administration as a specialized discipline and addressing workforce requirements for public hospitals.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on maintaining AHA’s commitment to excellence in healthcare management and training. Members were encouraged to actively participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s foundation.
