He formerly served as the Vice-Chancellor of HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun, and currently holds the esteemed position of Advisor to the Hon'ble President & Director - Hospital Services at Himalayan Hospital, SRHU.

A decorated alumnus of AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Hem Chandra earned his MBBS, followed by a Master’s in Hospital Administration (MHA), MPhil, Ph.D., and was later honored with D.Litt (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his vast contributions to the medical field.
